Questions and Answers

Vincent Iantomasi candidate for Halton Catholic District School Board Trustee Questions and Answers

What is your position on French Immersion in the Halton Catholic District School Board? Should it be extended to secondary?

I support it and believe it should be in both primary and secondary schools. More qualified French teachers are needed to deliver the program.

What is your position regarding Sanctity of Life and donations to charities and other pro life issues?

  • The current board policy is scheduled to be reviewed and discussed at a future meeting. Trustee positions are that  we are bound and must adhere to Ministry guidelines.
  • Feedback on the subject was 74% in favour of going back to the existing policy. In the scenario of a sitting Trustee, I would analyze the feedback received from the stakeholder input and vote on what is best for all.

What will you bring in to HCDSB that you feel is needed?

  • I will come to the table with consensus builder attitude. I will not have any hidden or personal agendas.  I am strongly committed to strengthening equitable governance that will benefit both families and employees of Halton Catholic District School Board.
  • I will examine issues and listen closely to the community concerns and work towards sound results. I will focus on strengthening the Board presence in our Community.

What are the changes you would do for HCDSB?

  • Work with sitting members to strengthen existing programs that will benefit families in the Halton. Catholic District School Board
  • Work to ensure that our students are safe and receive the skills necessary to prepare them for their future through a Catholic lens.
  • Hold all Trustees accountable to listen to all concerns before deliberating and deciding on issues that affect the Halton Catholic School Board community.
