Why I’m Running
As a secondary student of an immigrant family, I attended St. Jerome High School in Kitchener where I learned first hand the value of our Catholic education. At that time the priests were influential and spurred the students to appreciate, live our faith and the uniqueness of our value system.
With the advent of full funding, my understanding of the gift we have in Catholic education is something that is not to be taken for granted and my dedication to ensuring the success of our system is strong.
Having been highly involved at the secondary level of my daughter’s term at Assumption, and beyond, it has given me the insights into the value of parental and community input that schools and students can benefit from on a daily basis.
I am dedicated to our Catholic system, the families and students within it and recognize the importance of the impact our faith based education within society.
Ensure to the greatest extent possible that our system endures and is successful and continues to produce an army of community minded leaders at all levels.
That our students receive the best faith based education attainable by teachers who are dedicated to their faith and our community.
That our Board of Trustees consult with their stakeholders prior to making significant system changes.
That communication and transparency are top of mind.
That we, as a Board, stay engaged both locally and provincially and demonstrate to our communities that we are a positive focused educational system who treat all students and staff with respect and fairness, keeping them safe and giving them life tools to be successful.
